In 2009 when the A' Design Award and Competition was first organized, they decide to change this completely, first they implemented a no-further-fee policy, second they reduce the nomination fees for young, academic participants or start-up companies while keeping the fee higher for large enterprises and big agencies, effectively making the competition more fair. It was not only the fees or no-further fees that the A' Design Award innovated, they also made a risk assessment for participants and created required structures to mitigate risks such as concealed entry methods, entry guidelines and preliminary checks. The Preliminary Checks was indeed a very strong innovation, these checks allow prospective competition participants to know how well their design would perform, without paying any fees. The preliminary jury checks the submitted designs for eligibility and presentation quality before a nomination is made, this system greatly protects the designers as well as companies by saving them time and money by not nominating works that receive a low score after preliminary evaluation. Moreover, the A' Design Award was the first competition in the world to accept entries in many different design fields, therefore bridging designers, artists and architects as well as enterprises who wish to promote their products, services and ideas. Furthermore, the system for evaluation of entries was designed in a way to reduce any biases, as well as to eliminate any political or personal preferences or tendencies, effectively capturing the jury votes for a fair evaluation. These innovations among with thousand others have pushed the A' Design Award and Competition and made it the Worlds' Most International Design Award within five years.
