Fissure
Fissure is a jewellery collection inspired by the crevices in melting ice caps and dried earth. Each piece is hand-carved in wax into a three-dimensional lattice, with lines that mimic those found in nature. The structure forms around the gems, creating balanced compositions from seemingly random components. Lost-wax casting, stone setting, metal finishing and black rhodium plating complete each item. The materials are 18K yellow gold, South Sea baroque pearls and white diamonds. Colour contrast highlights the asymmetrical, crisscrossing forms.
Fissure Jewellery by Lingjun Sun has been featured as an innovative illustration of fashion design by the A' Design Award. Fissure Jewellery was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2021. The A' Jewelry Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade which recognizes superior design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
