Fluctus Design Collection
Fluctus is a jewelry collection inspired by the draped fabric of Roman sculpture. The design translates the folds of classical drapery into carved, flowing patterns that follow the shape of the human body. Each piece measures about 25 by 75 by 18 millimetres. The forms were first sketched, then modelled in three dimensions, printed in wax, cast, plated and polished by hand. Test prints were used to check the details and the comfort of the fit. The collection was created in Los Angeles over four weeks.
Fluctus Design Collection Jewelry by Huicong Yu has been featured as a grand example of fashion design by the A' Design Award. Fluctus Design Collection Jewelry was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2024. The A' Jewelry Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which recognizes superior design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
