Origins

Crafted from 18kt gold using a wax casting technique, the necklace boasts an Anishinaabe Harpoon head 1000 A.D. found in the Great Lakes region, perfectly complemented by the Japanese Akoya pearls and diamonds. Originally used as a harpoon point, this remarkable copper piece is a rare specimen usually found in museums. With a deep respect for history, this jewelry piece breathes new life into ancient treasures. Through the art of jewelry-making, the design represents the will and belief in giving new purpose to valuable artifacts.

Insinuations

Insinuations is a contemporary jewelry collection intended to be worn as art. The collection includes rings, a bracelet and a necklace. Each piece is developed with parametric three-dimensional software and then handcrafted in silver by expert goldsmiths. Every surface is polished to a clean and precise finish. The minimal forms follow the body and appear to flow softly over the skin. The collection explores personal space, closeness and the human need for intimacy. Artistic and conceptual value is combined with daily use.

Reflection

Reflection is a pair of asymmetric earrings made from repurposed 18ct white gold. The gold is drawn into wire to form the body of the main earring. The larger left earring hooks around the ear, while the right earring is a small stud. A separate drop section can be attached to either earring or slid onto a chain and worn as a pendant. Sapphires and diamonds are grain set and bezel set by hand. The design is inspired by a bird viewing its own reflection in water, and by the contrast between the side that is shown and the side that is kept hidden.

Observing

The work uses layers of circular outlines and changes in folds to design the process of human cognition of the world. The nested structure of concentric circles makes the work present an aesthetic feeling of continuous expansion or contraction, and the overall work reflects a comfortable sense of flow. The combination of gold and diamonds creates a rich and colorful picture and a texture of contrasting layers. The two texture treatments on the metal deepen the layering and spatial extension of the work, reflecting good craftsmanship.

Adley Fixi T1

Inspired by a fixed-gear cycle, Adley Fixi T1 watch is functional, robust and comfortable to wear throughout the day. The signature design of the watch is the unique case profile, central chainring design, crown position and styling of watch hands, lending a sporting touch reminiscent of the feeling of pedalling. The main challenge was translating the cycle element onto a mechanical watch, numerous 3D modelling and prototype to ensure a refined end product. A new assembly technical was applied to ensure the seamless fit to the watch housing.

Midnight Tide

Midnight Tide is a necklace made of 18ct white gold with inlaid diamonds. The neckpiece consists of 79 individually modeled units, each cast to serve a specific function and shaped in reference to human bones. The units interconnect through an original linkage mechanism inspired by body ligaments, which creates controlled tension and fluid movement. Each unit was prototyped, assembled and recast with precise adjustment, and the joints were fine-tuned by hand. The resulting form recalls the movement of ocean tides across the shoulder.
